The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have activated defenseman Duncan Keith from long-term injured reserve and reassigned defenseman Viktor Svedberg to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Keith, 32, has registered two assists in six games with the Blackhawks this season. The three-time Stanley Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist has recorded 417 points (75G, 342A) in 772 career regular-season games and added 75 points (15G, 60A) in 116 Stanley Cup playoff tilts, all with Chicago. The 2015 Conn Smythe Trophy winner and two-time James Norris Trophy winner was drafted by Chicago in the second round (54th overall) of the 2002 National Hockey League Draft.

The announced today that forward Marian Hossa has lent his support to “Rainbow for Ivanka” to help raise money and awareness for Ivanka Danisova, who was born as a triplet in Bratislava, Slovakia, with Goldenhar syndrome, a rare congenital defect.

Danisova, 27, has cardiac arrhythmia and deformation on the right side of her face, due to underdeveloped cranial bones; she has already had four cardiac catheterizations, overcome Leukemia and undergone a 14-hour craniofacial operation this past April. Danisova is scheduled to have a second and final operation this fall in the United States, but still needs to raise $100,000 for the surgery. Fans can donate to “Rainbow for Ivanka” here. Hossa will make a donation to help reach the $100,000 goal.

“My wife and I are honored to lend our support and donate to ‘Rainbow for Ivanka.’ Together, with the help of our great fans and the Blackhawks family, we can raise enough money for Ivanka to have surgery in the United States this fall,” said Hossa.

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have recalled forward Dennis Rasmussen from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and reassigned forward Tanner Kero to Rockford.

Rasmussen, 25, shares second on the IceHogs with 14 points (7G, 7A) and shares third on Rockford with 48 shots on goal in 22 games this season. The Vasteras, Sweden, native registered 27 points (13G, 14A) and a +9 plus/minus rating in 73 regular-season games with Rockford last year in his North American debut; he added five shots on goal in seven Calder Cup contests.

Kero, 23, has tallied three points (1G, 2A) in 17 games with the Blackhawks, including his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 29 at Winnipeg. The , Mich., native has posted seven points (6G, 1A) in seven games with the IceHogs this season. Kero was named CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 25 with three goals, an assist and a +5 plus/minus rating over three tilts

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have activated defenseman Michal Rozsival from long-term injured reserve and reassigned defenseman Erik Gustafsson to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Rozsival, 37, notched 13 points (1G, 12A) in 65 games with the Blackhawks last season en route to the 2015 Stanley Cup championship. He also tallied one assist over 10 playoff games. The 2013 Stanley Cup champion has totaled 33 points (2G, 31A) in 134 tilts with Chicago over the past three seasons. The Vlasim, Czech Republic, native has recorded 293 career points (66G, 227A) over 890 National Hockey League games with Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers, Arizona and Chicago. Rozsival was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 1996 NHL Draft.

Gustafsson, 23, registered three assists in six games with the Blackhawks since making his NHL debut on Oct. 30 at Minnesota. The Nynashamn, Sweden, native has tallied one assist and 10 penalty minutes over eight games with the IceHogs in his first professional season in North America. He signed with the Blackhawks as a free agent on April 30, 2015.

Svedberg, 24, tallied two points (1G, 1A) in 15 games with the Blackhawks since making his NHL debut on Oct. 9 at the New York Islanders. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native has posted 23 points (5G, 18A) in 84 career regular-season games with Rockford across two seasons (2013-15), adding four assists in eight 2015 Calder Cup playoff games. He was originally signed as a free agent on Oct. 19, 2013.

The Chicago Blackhawks will launch their 2015-16 regular-season home opener on Wednesday, Oct. 7, with a special red carpet event on Madison Street in front of the United Center from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. Chicago hosts the New York Rangers at the United Center at 7:00 p.m. that .

The Blackhawks 2015-16 team will walk the red carpet from Gate 3 to Gate 2 on Madison Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. and will each be introduced before walking down a red carpet and into the United Center's Gate 2. Comcast SportsNet's Pat Boyle and Steve Konroyd, along with Blackhawks Community Liaison Jamal Mayers, will host the event, which has attracted thousands of fans each of the last seven seasons. Comcast SportsNet will air coverage of the entire event from 5-6 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet Plus, followed by "Blackhawks Pregame Live."

The event is free and features appearances by alumni and current players. Madison Street between Damen and Wood will be closed from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate the event. Parking lots around the United Center will open at 2:00 p.m., while gates will open for the home opener immediately following the player arrival. Fans can visit the Bud Light party lounge located on Madison Street in front of the United Center from 3 p.m. until gates open; a live band and DJ will be on-site to entertain fans, in addition to appearances by Tommy Hawk and the Bud Light Ice Crew. Fans are encouraged to be seated by 6:30 p.m. for the Banner Raising Ceremony. All outside events are weather permitting.
