Ducks fans were noticeably enthusiastic when the team brought back defenseman James Wisniewski in a trade with Columbus that was finalized just before the NHL’s mid-day Pacific deadline on Friday.

But they will have to wait a little bit to determine “Wiz” on the ice back in a Ducks uniform. The 31-year-old defenseman a break down bone bruise while blocking a shot Sunday night vs. Pittsburgh, that turned out to be his last sport with the Blue Jackets. This individual flew out to Orange County last night morning in time to take in Anaheim’azines 3-1 victory over Montreal at Honda Center. He was again at the arena this afternoon to get familiar with the team picture and get some treatment on the foot.

Wisniewski invested a few minutes back in the familiar boundaries of the Ducks locker room to speak about the trade and his return to Anaheim.#39 Anaheim Ducks Matt Beleskey Authentic White Away Jersey

"I couldn’t be more thrilled to come back to an organization I’meters familiar with, where I am aware a lot of the guys. A lot of guys are still here. I played together with five guys on the team, and to be able to go from the struggling year to a legit Stanley Cup contending team is a desire come true." How do you find out about the trade?
I was just sitting on my couch watching NHL System. Two o’clock [Central] came around and I got a call coming from Jarmo Kekäläinen, and he told me I was bought and sold here to Anaheim.

Did you have an inkling you may be dealt?
When they had asked for my list [of teams he would accept a trade to],#27 Anaheim Ducks Scott Niedermayer Authentic Black Home Jersey I kind of had a feeling they would store me around. When I started out seeing some of the teams which i might have gone to had picked up other defensemen, kind of the only group left was Anaheim. My wife actually said, “Anaheim has been kind of quiet this trade deadline,” as well as literally five seconds later on Jarmo called me. She said, “I just had a weird feeling.”

What was your reaction to learning it was Anaheim?
I couldn’t be more fired up to come back to an organization I’meters familiar with, where I know most of the guys. A lot of guys continue to be here. I played with 5 guys on the team, also to be able to go from a having difficulties year to a legit Stanley Pot contending team is a fantasy come true.

Have you looked at the Ducks and determined it’azines a good fit?
Yeah, absolutely. I’onal watched their games as well as realized their style of enjoy fits me perfectly. They’re a big, heavy, fast staff that’s physical and also unpleasant. They’ve done a good career of mixing in size, speed, strength and talent. All seven defensemen can play big moments and play a physical video game, join the rush, skate and make plays. The game is different a little bit where you have to have that good transition game from protection to offense and be able to come with that second wave associated with attack. Anaheim does that perfectly. I’michael really looking forward to stepping about the ice with them.

And this is a team that has one goal in mind.
Exactly. You’ve got to think not the Cup is unacceptable. The longest stint I had in the playoffs was with this group when I first got traded here,Youth #15 Anaheim Ducks Ryan Getzlaf Premier Black Third Jersey going to the second round, Game 7 against Detroit. I’m getting excited about getting back into that playoff setting and being here for the long haul.

Health-wise, where do you feel like you are right now?
It’s just a bone bruise, which is good, and it’s getting better and better. I’m looking to try and acquire my foot in a skateboarding the next couple days as well as hopefully be on the road vacation and get my first game in. I think that’s really realistic. I don’t see any setbacks or anything like this. As long as I can handle pain and get my foot in a skate, I’ll be good to play.

What’s your living situation right now?
I’m a hotel person for now, but I’m in the middle of looking for a place. I don’t think I want to be in an accommodation for four months. I lived in Newport Shoreline when I was here before. I’m trying to get settled in, get the family out here. My wife is from Simi Valley, and we’ve got a lot of pals out here, so everyone is excited to see me back again.
